Job Summary
Advanced Practice Professional (APP) in pediatric plastic surgery coordinates multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive plans of care for plastic surgery patients, conducts pre-procedure evaluations, documents diagnostic test results, and facilitates peri-operative management and discharge planning. The APP conducts integrated assessments, orders appropriate tests or consults per guidelines, educates residents and nursing staff, and serves as a resource for staff while promoting evidence-based practice. The role includes in-hospital and ambulatory care responsibilities across the age continuum, with responsibilities ranging from rounds and pre-procedure evaluations to coordination of discharge planning and participation in clinical trials and education programs. Must have PA certification (NCCPA), be licensed or eligible in WV, and hold/obtain BLS (with ACLS as applicable). Preferred Masters-level education as Medical/Surgical Physician Assistant. 40-hour work week with leadership in plastic surgery practice and collaboration with other medical and nursing staff.
Required Qualifications
- Masters level education as Medical/Surgical Physician Assistant preferred
- Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants
- Licensed or eligible for licensure by WV Board of Medicine or WV Board of Osteopathic Medicine
- American Heart Association BLS Certification with potential for Advanced Life Support training
