Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) is responsible for the comprehensive management of hospitalized patients, coordinating care with medical/surgical specialty teams. The role includes daily rounds, performing clinical evaluations, ordering tests, and facilitating patient discharge. Candidates must have a Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent as a Physician Assistant, with required national certification and BLS certification. Acute care or hospitalist experience is preferred, and eligible new graduates will be considered. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing
- National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree as a Medical/Surgical (as applicable) Physician Assistant required
- Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant (PA) training program required
- Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants required
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine or WV Board of Osteopathic Medicine
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required
Desired Qualifications
- ACNP or AGACNP preferred, but FNPs will be considered
- Masters level education as Medical/Surgical (as applicable) Physician Assistant preferred
