Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) is responsible for comprehensive management of surgery/transplant patients, coordinating with medical specialty teams and developing individualized care plans. The role includes performing diagnostic procedures, participating in patient education, completing daily rounds, and facilitating discharge planning. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s degree as a Physician Assistant and relevant certifications. Experience in Transplant Surgery or Acute Care is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s Degree as Physician Assistant
- National Certification by recognized APRN Certification Centers
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia
- Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants
- BLS Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) at department's discretion
Desired Qualifications
- Transplant Surgery experience
- Acute Care Medical/Surgical experience
- AGACNP or AGCNS certification
- Master’s level degree as Physician Assistant
