Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) in Dermatology coordinates comprehensive care for patients, participates in the education of residents and medical/nursing students, and conducts diagnostic/therapeutic procedures under state law and hospital privileges. Key responsibilities include completing consultations, ordering additional tests, performing clinical evaluations, facilitating patient discharge, and leading interdisciplinary patient care approaches. Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field, national certification, and relevant licensure. The role emphasizes strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and a collaborative work style.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing
- National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia
- BLS Certification required
- Certification by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants required
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine
- BLS Certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) at the discretion of the department
Desired Qualifications
- ACNPs and FNPs considered
- Masters level degree as Physician Assistant preferred
- Dermatology experience preferred
Additional Requirements
- Experience in Dermatology preferred, but eligible new graduates will be considered
