Job Summary
Lead clinical and administrative initiatives to enhance Clinical Nurse Specialist capabilities across the OU Health system. Design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based patient care programs while collaborating with physician, operational, and nursing leadership on strategic vision. Facilitate hiring and orientation of new CNS, oversee FPPE/OPPE requirements, and manage performance evaluations with key stakeholders. Provide clinical assessments, order diagnostic studies, and develop standards of care within specialized areas. Participate in research, quality initiatives, and interprofessional partnerships to advance clinical care, education, and system-wide projects. Serve as a resource for APP-related issues and advocate for patients within the healthcare system.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing
- MSN
- 3 or more years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in the CNS role
- 3 years of progressive leadership experience
- Active APRN-CNS license in State of Oklahoma
- Prescriptive authority (must obtain within 30 days of onboarding)
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification
