Advanced Practice Clinician Resident

Under MD supervision, Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Resident assesses and evaluates the health care needs of patients, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, manages care for patients, and performs related work as assigned. Essential duties include taking patient histories and performing complete physical examinations in clinics and Mobile Health sites; assessing clinical status; ordering and performing laboratory and screening tests; consulting with physician preceptors; formulating problem lists and care plans; administering treatments or medications as approved; evaluating patient care; teaching patients, families, and staff; maintaining records; participating in meetings and QA activities; identifying problems related to patient services and proposing improvements; and serving as an integral member of the health center care team. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Diploma leading to licensing as PA or NP; Licensure eligibility; DEA license; CPR certification; no supervisory responsibilities. LOCATION: Open Door Community Health Centers – Eureka, CA; operates under ODCHC values and participates in E-Verify.
