Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, interpret diagnostics, and implement clinical treatments within the scope of advanced nursing practice in collaboration with Medical Oncology physicians. Manage outpatient clinic visits and inpatient care, develop comprehensive plans of care including pharmacologic agents and end-of-life care, and provide health education on drug management and side effects. Maintain confidential records, document therapies for reimbursement justification, and participate in clinical trials, supervision of research nurses, and performance improvement initiatives. Communicate with physicians, patients, families, and co-workers while facilitating positive relationships and seeking answers to current clinical issues.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform CPR
- Current Delaware RN and State Licensure as an advanced practice nurse
- Active national certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
- Compliance with evolving criteria for recertification by the ANA Council of Nurses in Advanced Practice including documentation of active practice performance and appropriate continuing medical education
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
