Job Summary
Provide psychiatric evaluations and ongoing treatment while ensuring accurate diagnosis and appropriate pharmacological intervention. Monitor medication side effects, maintain electronic medical records, and participate in urgent call rotations as requested. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend clinical staffing and medical staff meetings, and respond timely to patient and staff inquiries. Perform traditional nursing duties when clinically indicated and maintain records of physician supervision in compliance with state regulations. Adhere to weekly supervision protocols and meet targeted VPU percent goals.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing with specialized training and licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Has Certificate of Fitness (or initially, a temporary certificate) from the State of Tennessee granting prescribing authority in accordance with state laws
- A DEA number is required for all current nurse practitioners
- New hires must have applied for a DEA number prior to beginning work
