Job Summary
Design, implement, and deploy next-generation Strategic Weapon Systems using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and digital engineering practices. Develop and maintain SysML models, including behavioral, structural, and requirements diagrams, while applying MBSE to architect complex systems through functional decomposition, interface definition, and trade study analysis. Manage requirements using tools like DOORS and integrate them with system models within DoDAF frameworks to support cross-functional teams. Communicate complex system designs effectively and champion MBSE adoption across the organization. This role supports nuclear command, control, and communications initiatives at GDMS in Bloomington, MN, featuring a 9/80 flexible schedule and Top Secret clearance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance
- U.S. Government security investigation eligibility
- Eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- U.S. citizenship
- Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Direct hands-on experience with industry-leading MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler
- Ability to develop and maintain SysML models, including behavioral, structural, and requirements diagrams
- Experience applying MBSE to architect complex systems, including functional decomposition, interface definition, and trade study analysis
- Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards with an MBSE-first mindset
- Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, DOORS Next Generation) and their integration with system models
- Experience working within DoDAF or similar architecture frameworks to support digital engineering initiatives
