Job Summary

Execute recruitment and retention strategies to fill Advanced Manufacturing Technology certificate seats with qualified students. Manage the student advising process, including early intervention counseling for at-risk individuals and guidance on academic and life balance issues. Coordinate promotional activities, open houses, and info sessions while overseeing student placement and internship development. Provide backup coverage for evening programs and collaborate with instructors, business office, and external partners to support student progress and graduation rates.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriately related field
  • One (1) or more years of experience applying those disciplines in activities related to student recruitment and retention
  • A combination of education, training and experience that would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties
  • Familiarity with programs and strategies to support first-generation, low-income, nontraditional, and minoritized students
  • Familiarity with the community college environment and its student population
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems
  • Experience providing high quality and equitable customer service in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • On-site work location (CT State Tunxis)
  • Availability for evening and weekend hours beyond the traditional work week
  • Authorization to work full-time in the United States
