Job Summary

Deliver high-quality instruction in an applied learning environment by organizing daily classes using creative techniques tailored to diverse student needs. Facilitate activities, discussions, and assessments while providing constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes. Maintain accurate student records, ensure safety and equipment security, and offer advisement to increase retention through collaboration with the Office of Student Success. Participate in recruitment tours and assist in department planning while demonstrating TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity.

Required Qualifications

  • Verifiable work experience with industrial equipment
  • Strong Electrical/programming Skills
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Motor Control Systems
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Motor Control Schematics
  • Working knowledge of Maintenance of Industrial equipment
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical Power Transmission systems
  • Associate degree in a closely related field and demonstrated qualifications in the technology's teaching discipline
  • Verifiable professional experience may be accepted in lieu of other requirements as approved by the Vice Chancellor who oversees academic programs, or his/her designee
  • Bachelor's degree in a closely related teaching discipline (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of basic fluid power (hydraulic and pneumatic) systems (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of basic PLC operation and programming (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of programming electrical speed control systems(AC/DC Drives) (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of basic machining and welding (Preferred)
  • Related teaching experience (Preferred)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of the college
  • Availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignment, as appropriate
  • Ability to interpret and administer assessments
  • Ability to offer constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes
  • Ability to integrate technology effectively to enrich the educational experiences
  • Ability to develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans
  • Ability to organize daily classes utilizing a variety of creative/innovative techniques
  • Ability to tailor teaching methods to diverse learning styles and needs

  • Articulating ideas clearly and fostering open communication
  • Creating and utilizing assessments to provide constructive feedback and guide learning

  • Ability to ensure opportunities for student/participant evaluation

  • Ability to collaborate with the Office of Student Success to ensure students receive current information on tutoring and other programs designed to increase retention
  • Ability to participate in related tours and recruitment events
  • Ability to assist in department/program planning for recruitment
  • Demonstrates a willingness to be of service
  • Exhibits pleasant and courteous behavior toward customers (students, parents, employers, and media), organizational coworkers, and other general public contacts
  • Ability to facilitate the learning of students
