Advanced Laboratory Assistant

Job Summary
Prepare patient samples for clinical and anatomical testing by evaluating specimen orders, entering data into Laboratory Information Systems, and creating specimen work lists. Operate automated and semi-automated equipment to process and submit specimens while performing instrumentation maintenance and clean-up. Prepare reagents and document processing logs, quality control, and reagent labeling. Handle biohazardous and chemical hazardous materials according to standard operating procedures. Communicate deficiencies regarding specimens, paperwork, database information, and equipment to appropriate personnel. Work Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in a high-paced environment supporting women's health diagnostics.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Maintain confidential information
- Employee is regularly required to talk or hear
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
