Job Summary
Provide inpatient and outpatient heart failure and transplant consultation services, managing LVAD and heart transplant programs with predominant time in Lakeway. Conduct expected inpatient rounding, VAD/HTx clinic visits, echocardiography for VAD and heart transplant, and invasive procedures including right heart catheterization, implantable pulmonary artery monitor placement, and endomyocardial biopsies. Offer ACGME education to Cardiology Fellows and rotate on the inpatient cardiac transplant service at BSWH Round Rock and Temple locations. Maintain UNOS qualification for cardiac transplant patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Must be UNOS qualified for the care of patients with cardiac transplants
- Predominant amount of time in Lakeway
- Expected call 1:4 in Round Rock location (Recovery program)
- Expected call 6 weeks a year in Temple location (VAD/HTx program)
