Job Summary
Advanced Heart Failure RN in a 24-bed specialty unit providing high-acuity cardiac care (LVAD/telemetry) with a Nurse Residency program for new graduates; responsibilities include applying the nursing process across assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, coordination of care, and health promotion, while collaborating within an interdisciplinary team and ensuring ethics, culturally congruent practice, education, evidence-based practice, quality, and patient resource utilization. The role emphasizes critical thinking, hands-on patient care, and support for patients with severe heart failure, transplant-related care, and pulmonary hypertension, in a high-tech environment, with a focus on patient safety and staff development.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Virginia RN License (required)
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire (required)
- ACLS within 1 year of hire (required)
- New Graduate Nurses welcome to apply
- BSN/MSN preferred (not required)
- Virginia or Compact/Multi-State License eligible (preferred)
