Job Summary
Responds to emergency rescue situations providing Advanced Life Support; evaluates, treats, and stabilizes critically ill/injured patients; manages and directs patient care at the emergency scene; operates emergency vehicles safely; provides training to lesser-trained personnel; completes patient statistical reports and communicates effectively with hospital staff. Requires AEMT certification, CPR, ACLS, PALS, and knowledge of emergency medical practices and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Must possess and maintain unrestricted AEMT Licensure / Certification
- Must possess and maintain CPR for the Health Care Provider (AHA, ASHI, ECSI)
- Must possess and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Must possess and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Must possess and maintain unrestricted state driver’s license
- Good knowledge of street systems, addresses and physical layout of area
- Good ability to perform technical medical skills with high degree of accuracy
- Must have completed CEVO or EVOC upon date of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in ICS 100 & 200; 300 & 400 preferred but not required
- Certification in FEMA IS-800
