Job Summary
Assess illness or injury to prioritize medical procedures and restore cardiac function for pulseless patients. Administer initial treatment, record vital signs, and communicate with hospital personnel via approved methods. Maintain up-to-date credentials, document patient care in HEMSI reporting systems, and ensure vehicle safety and equipment readiness. Clean and restock the emergency unit while adhering to statewide Treatment Protocols and HEMSI Medical Control Physicians. Meet HEMSI response time standards and provide excellent customer service to patients and families. Maintain insurable driving status and report faithfully to work.
Required Qualifications
- State of Alabama EMSP License as EMT
- Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
- EVOC
- Valid and current driver's license
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- undergraduate EMT certificate
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Remains in good driving status and maintains insurable driving status
- Meets the HEMSI standard on response times
