Advanced Emergency Medical Technician - Per Diem

Job Summary
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls as a two-member ambulance crew, driving specially equipped vehicles to specified locations. Administer immediate medical care for victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses, including cardiac arrests and strokes, from initial contact until transfer to an accepting facility. Operate life support equipment such as bag valve masks, external defibrillators, and electrocardiograms while assessing injuries to prioritize stabilization and immobilization. Document full assessments in patient care charting software and communicate with treatment facility personnel. Clean and decontaminate vehicles after treating infectious disease patients. Work a per diem schedule with variable hours, requiring a Pennsylvania driver's license and advanced certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years Pre-hospital EMT-B Experience
- Ability to assess needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families
- Ability to document and communicate pertinent information using computer and/or paper documentation tools
- Demonstrates age-specific competencies in the care of neonates, infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers, school aged, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions
- Must be able to apply advance knowledge and training, developing and executing a plan of care, and rapidly intervene in life-saving procedures
