Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (Erie Full-Time)

Job Summary
Provide basic pre-hospital emergency care to sick and injured patients, conducting assessments to prioritize medical procedures and transport them safely to appropriate facilities. Evaluate patients, relay pertinent information to medical facilities, and implement interventions based on PA DOH State Protocols and physician orders. Supervise, train, and direct new AEMTs, EMTs, and EMS students as directed. Manage ALS and BLS equipment including backboards, splints, oxygen, radios, and ambulance vehicles. Maintain full accountability for all actions and quality of care delivered. Requires current Pennsylvania AEMT certification, BLS-CPR, valid driver's license, and ability to drive minimum 4 hours per shift. Uses Zoll Rescue Net Patient Care Reporting and Crew Scheduling software.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Currently certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Current certification/recognition in BLS-CPR as is recognized by the current regulations of the EMS Act
- Successfully completed the Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training course
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to drive a minimum of 4 hrs per shift
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Zoll Rescue Net Patient Care Reporting Database software
- Knowledge of Microsoft or Equivalent Internet Browser software
- Knowledge of Zoll Rescue Net Crew Scheduling software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word Processing software
