Job Summary
Conduct pre-hospital emergency care for sick and injured patients, performing ALS and BLS techniques per PA DOH protocols while transporting patients to appropriate medical facilities. Evaluate patients to prioritize medical procedures and relay pertinent information to medical facilities, implementing interventions from state protocols and physician orders. Assist with supervision, training, and direction of new AEMTs, EMTs, and EMS students as directed. Manage ALS equipment, backboards, splints, oxygen, radios, and ambulance vehicles while maintaining accountability for all actions and care quality. Requires current Pennsylvania AEMT certification, BLS-CPR, valid driver's license, and ability to drive minimum 4 hours per shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Currently certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Current certification/recognition in BLS-CPR as is recognized by the current regulations of the EMS Act
- Successfully completed the Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training course
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to drive a minimum of 4 hrs per shift
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Zoll Rescue Net Patient Care Reporting Database software
- Knowledge of Microsoft or Equivalent Internet Browser software
- Knowledge of Zoll Rescue Net Crew Scheduling software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word Processing software
