Job Summary
An Advanced Emergency Medical Technician provides immediate basic and advanced medical care and transport of patients during emergencies, coordinating with dispatch and other public-safety personnel. Responsibilities include responding to calls, assessing patients, administering life-saving interventions within NYS Scope of Practice, operating defibrillators and oxygen equipment, safely transporting patients, documenting care, maintaining equipment readiness, and working conditions that involve high-pressure, hazardous environments. Per Diem schedule with variable shifts including weekends and holidays; 12-hour shifts. Requires physical capability to lift/move patients up to 250 lbs with partner assistance and travel to emergency scenes.
Required Qualifications
- NYS AEMT
- BLS required at hire, If not AHA, must obtain AHA BLS within 3 months of hire.
- Valid Drivers License
- Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
