Advanced Electric Drive and Power Electronics Engineer

Job Summary
Define and document requirements for electric drives, inverters, and motors to ensure successful vehicle application. Execute design, analysis, development, and testing while deriving component requirements using system engineering discipline and simulation. Lead trade studies to select optimized solutions meeting range, performance, and cost targets, ensuring high-fidelity models for handoff to execution teams. Collaborate with Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Program Teams to develop Electrified Propulsion System Architectures through Advanced Technology Work and Balanced Architecture phases. Support multi-functional teams in developing system-level DFMEA and leading projects through key development gates.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
- Three (3) years of experience as a System Requirements Engineer, Systems Engineer, Automotive Engineer, or related role
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
- Five (5) years of experience as a System Requirements Engineer, Systems Engineer, Automotive Engineer, or related role
- Experience with designing, developing, and testing electric drives, motors, and power electronics
- Experience with power electronics theory and principles
- Experience with design for EMC in power electronics modules
- Experience with electrified vehicle system and integration
- Experience with commercial tools for modeling and simulation of power electronics and electric drives
- Experience with high-voltage laboratory and dynamometer environment
- Experience with electrical and mechanical CAD/CAE tools
- Must be able to report to local office
