Advanced Dental Therapist

Job Summary
Provide quality dental treatment within your scope of service following best practices standards and adhere to SCHS workflows, clinical, and operational policies. Collaborate interprofessionally to remove barriers to care by delivering exceptional access to dental services. Assist in daily support, training, and direction of dental personnel while maintaining up-to-date internal credentialing and licensure. Complete timely administrative duties, including Relias courses, policy attestations, incident reporting, and peer reviews to ensure high-quality care under the Risk Management Program. Maintain coding and EHR excellence using SCHS templates and close charts within 48 hours. This role supports the mission to improve patient health by removing barriers and promoting healthy lifestyles within a 90-120 employee non-profit clinic.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a dental therapy education program approved by the Board of Dentistry or accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
- Advanced Dental Therapy certificate
- Valid and active Minnesota license
- Current CPR certification
- Licenses and certifications in good standing
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or Somali)
- Confidence, professional judgment, and grace under pressure
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Leadership and critical thinking experience
- Works well both independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional communication skills
- Flexibility with schedule and workload
- Ability to exhibit good rapport with clients of varying ethnic backgrounds and socio-economic status

- Must be able to operate typical office equipment such as computers, fax machines, copiers, and telephones, as well as instruments commonly found in a dental clinic
- Requires effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, clients, or patients and to complete necessary documentation
- Must be able to recognize and respond to potential signs of oral health issues or alcohol impairment through appropriate sensory or observational means
