Job Summary

Design, develop, and document software systems controlling fan motors, pumps, valves, and safety switches using electrical and mechanical inputs. Create software specifications, analyze complex issues, and produce efficient code aligned with industry standards and customer requirements. Implement data communication features utilizing Modbus and BACnet protocols while coordinating code reviews and supporting field troubleshooting. Provide technical inputs for development best practices and collaborate with cross-functional teams on controls hardware design and system integration. This role involves significant domestic and international travel up to 25% of the time, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in developing electro-mechanical control systems software
  • 5+ years of hands-on controls implementation experience, including system integration, commissioning, start-up, and field deployment
  • Hands-on controls hardware experience, including wiring, sensors, actuators, and I/O, with the ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience in software languages such as C/C++, C#, Python, Structured Text, and PLC languages, Modicon, Carel or Beckhoff TwinCAT
  • Excellent remote communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to reasonably estimate and plan software projects
  • Software development Agile experience
  • Experience with electrical control cabinet/panel design, field wiring, and hardware integration
  • Must be able to stand and walk up to 30% of the time
  • Must be available for travel both domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in HVAC applications a plus
  • Knowledge of issues tracking systems, DevOps a plus
  • Knowledge of revisions management software, GitHub a plus
