Job Summary
Complete operating system installations and troubleshooting for Windows 11, Windows Server, and Linux (Red Hat and Ubuntu). Configure and maintain network infrastructure within the LAN between Windows and UNIX/Linux systems while assisting staff with day-to-day hardware, software, and network issues both on and off-site. Identify vulnerabilities across all IT assets and apply patching and remediation fixes. Assist in developing the group's growing IT infrastructure by working on existing projects and helping develop new initiatives aimed at improving IT effectiveness and efficiency. This role provides complete IT hardware and software support for 70+ users within the Advanced Concepts & Technologies Group.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in accredited Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Networking/IT Degree program
- Must be knowledgeable of various operating systems: Windows 11, Windows Server, Mac OS X, and Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.)
- Understanding of virtualization concepts
- basic experience working with various hypervisors
- Familiarity with Microsoft application software
- basic understanding of computer networking
- U.S. citizenship
