Job Summary
Develop and commercialize technology for product development programs in polyester films using stage-gate methodology and Design for Six Sigma tools. Coordinate technical aspects of new product development efforts, including plant trials, coating chemistry, polymer formulations, and film processing. Lead new product initiatives while ensuring safe lab execution and environmental compliance. Communicate with customers, suppliers, and development partners to drive market growth and achieve organizational goals. Leverage technology from vendors, government agencies, and academic institutions to foster innovation.
Required Qualifications
- A MS or PhD in Organic Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry
- Technical Subject matter skills (Material, Formulation)
- Project management skills and experience
- Ability to make clear presentations
- Effectively work with all disciplines within the organization to achieve goals
- Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Experience with patents and general intellectual property systems
Desired Qualifications
- Degrees in another scientific discipline
- Trained in Six Sigma
- Experience with coating formulations, coating processes, polymer chemistry, or extrusion technology
- Experience with polyester, polyester films or polyester film manufacture
- A working understanding of thermoplastic polymer property-process relationships
