Job Summary
Diagnose and repair highly automated production equipment, including electrical, mechanical, PLC/HMI, robotics, and vision systems, to minimize downtime and restore stable operations. Perform root cause analysis of automation and process issues, implementing corrective actions to improve manufacturing performance and reliability. Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new or upgraded equipment while maintaining technical documentation and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance equipment reliability. This role is part of the Manufacturing Process Engineering team at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, an FDA-regulated facility in Chaska, MN.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field
- 6+ years of experience including experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment
- Strong hands-on expertise across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotics, vision systems, and PLC/HMI platforms (such as Rockwell)
- Schematic interpretation
- Machine/electrical safety (LOTO, NFPA 70E)
- Proven problem-solver in fast-paced production environments
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility to support off-shift or on-call operations

- Supporting our Reagent Operations facility located in Chaska, MN
- Diagnose and repair highly automated production equipment (electrical, mechanical, PLC/HMI, robotics, vision, motion control)
- Perform root cause analysis of automation, process, and material issues
- Implementing corrective actions to improve manufacturing performance and reliability
- Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new/upgraded equipment
- Maintaining technical documentation
- Collaborating cross-functionally to enhance equipment reliability
- Delivering exceptional equipment reliability, performance, and compliance within an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment
- Working closely with engineers, technicians, and external suppliers
- Ensuring compliance with quality systems and applicable regulatory requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Apply Lean Six Sigma tools, statistical methods, and data analysis to drive process improvements, quality, and equipment reliability
- Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments
- Hold or working toward advanced automation certifications (e.g., ISA CCST, CAP) with a focus on continuous technical development
