Job Summary
Advanced Analytics Specialist to join UPM Fibres, primarily based in Helsinki, Finland. Role involves developing analytics, optimization, and AI-enabled decision-support solutions across UPM Fibres; collaborate with experts/decision-makers to translate complex business questions into practical analytical deliverables; own analytics workstreams within project teams; build/apply analytical models (optimization, simulations, forecasting, statistical modelling, machine learning); apply generative AI/LLMs to improve workflows and automate knowledge work; engage with stakeholders to clarify needs, validate results, and turn analysis into actionable recommendations; contribute to capability development in optimization, data science, AI tools, and modern analytics practices; prior experience in industrial/logistics contexts is advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- University degree, preferably MSc or Ph.D. in mathematics, economics, computer science, engineering, operations research, statistics, or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in analytics, data science, optimization, operations research, or decision-support work
- Practical programming experience in Python
- Applied analytical methods to real-world business challenges (optimization, simulation, forecasting, statistical modelling or machine learning)
- Experience using generative AI or large language models in analytical tasks is an advantage
