Job Summary
Conduct overnight evaluation and management of patients in the extended monitoring unit of Advance Urgent Care, utilizing evidence-based clinical pathways to determine appropriate levels of care. Assess patients for discharge, continued observation, hospital admission, or alternative settings, including Advanced Care at Home, while collaborating with Emergency Medicine physicians, hospitalists, and ancillary services to coordinate timely disposition. Facilitate efficient patient throughput by coordinating diagnostic testing and specialty consultations, working independently during 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m. shifts on a 7 on 7 off rotation.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia
- Covering night shifts (7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.)
- EMU (extended care unit) part of advanced urgent care
- 14 shifts a month
- Potential to work at EMU in Lutherville-Timonium and South Baltimore Medical centers
