Advance Technician

Advance Technicians provide world class support by completing new customer installations, repairing equipment, and troubleshooting (including signaling, headend, HFC, and fiber optic networks). Responsibilities include reading and interpreting system/network design maps, verifying as-built documentation, splicing/terminating coaxial and fiber, activating devices, and testing to ensure performance, performing field surveys, estimating plant/drop extensions, and conducting underground locating to prevent damage. Core competencies emphasize customer focus, proactive problem solving, and collaboration, with required regulatory knowledge (FCC/NEC/NESC/OSHA/DOT) and a valid driver’s license. A one-year certificate or 3–4 years of related experience (or equivalent) plus completion of Sparklight Advanced Technician training within 6 months are required.
