Job Summary
Conduct independent nursing and delegated medical functions for patients in Endocrinology, Emergency Room, Cardiology, Neurology, and other specialties. Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, and review laboratory or radiologic studies to assess patient status. Formulate diagnoses, develop treatment plans aligned with collaborating physicians, and administer medications or procedures within expertise limits. Educate patients and families on treatment plans and disease prevention, while documenting all care activities in medical records. Manage assigned tasks, conduct telephonic encounters, and respond to emergency situations. Maintain clinical competence through continuing education and participate in quality assurance and peer review activities.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years diabetes management experience
- Endo experience preferred
- Masters Degree in Nursing
- Graduation from an accredited graduate nursing program approved by the Colorado State Board of Nursing
- APN Prescriptive Authority Certification (Colorado) required at hire OR APN Prescriptive Authority Certification - Provisional (Colorado) required at hire
- Advanced Practice Nurse Registration (Colorado)
- Registered Nurse License (Colorado)
- National Provider Identifier
- Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire
- Drug Enforcement Administration Registration
- CDE/CDCES Certification within 24 months
- ACLS certification and procedural sedation competency within 90 days of hire
