Job Summary
Community Advocate provides direct survivor advocacy, crisis intervention, and resource support to survivors seeking services through walk-ins, scheduled appointments, or the agency hotline. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, safety planning, connecting clients to resources, assisting with outreach and education activities, facilitating in-person or virtual support groups, maintaining confidential case documentation, and supporting front desk/administrative coverage as needed. Requires experience in public speaking or group facilitation, ability to engage with diverse populations, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to document and track demographic information. Education/Experience: Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, plus minimum two years' direct advocacy experience and one year in public speaking or teaching.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Human Services, Human Development, Education, Social Work, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum of two years' experience providing direct support or advocacy within social services, including working with youth, survivors, or other vulnerable populations
- Minimum of one year experience in public speaking, presentations, group facilitation, or teaching
