Job Summary
Lead high-quality recreation programs including badminton, basketball, pickleball, tennis, and volleyball, ensuring participants are engaged and safe. Create and implement program plans with supervisor support and demonstrate willingness to play sports as required. Maintain daily attendance records, accident reports, and safety checks while ensuring equipment and facilities remain in safe working condition. Communicate supply needs and distribute program literature as assigned. Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude when interacting with participants, the public, school personnel, and co-workers. Adhere to Health and Safety legislation and promote anti-racism and human rights in all interactions. Work approximately 3 to 20 hours per week based on demand and availability.
Required Qualifications
- Standard or Intermediate First Aid (prior to the start of the program)
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check (VSPC) (Prior to the start of the program)
- Ability to demonstrate good communication, high energy, enthusiasm and continued positive attitude
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- High level of comfort in fast paced public facing environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with adults in a recreation environment, with a minimum of one year teaching experience an asset
- Experience working with children, youth and/or adults with special needs an asset
- Second language is an asset (please indicate on resume)
