Job Summary
Provide comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients, including performing malnutrition assessments, nutrition-focused physical exams, diet education, and providing nutrition support recommendations. Consult with physicians and allied health professionals regarding patients' nutritional statuses, nutrient needs, or specific diet plans, and formulate assessment, evaluation, and follow-up plans for patients at nutrition risk. Participate in clinical rounds and department meetings to communicate information to administrative personnel, while offering consultation to in- and outpatients on diet rationale for self-management. Maintain current CDR credentials and DC licensure, review pertinent literature for Journal Club, and present formal professional presentations to peers or the community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree B.S with a major in Food & Nutrition Science from an accredited college or university
- completion of an accredited dietetic internship (RDE will be considered) required
- Master's degree Master's degree from an accredited college or university if completed after Jan 1 2024. required
- 1-2 years One year of general clinical nutrition experience preferred (RDE will be considered). preferred
- REG DIET - Dietitian - Registered Commission on Dietetics Registration within 90 Days required
- Dietitian DC DOH - DIETDC DC Department of Health-Board of Dietetics and Nutrition within 90 Days required
- Current knowledge in clinical dietetics.
- Able to navigate Electronic Medical Record efficiently.
- Functional with basic word processing skills.
- Good communicator with peers and members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Able to manage time efficiently and able to multi-task.
- Flexibility in schedule and tasks as needed.
- Comfortable with public speaking.
