Job Summary
Provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support to neonatal through geriatric patients; sets up, monitors, and weans oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation; collects and analyzes arterial blood gases and EKGs; delivers intermittent therapy and assists with airway management; educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans; performs diagnostic procedures and adheres to established policies; maintains current knowledge of regulatory requirements and complies with Compliance & Privacy Program; flexible schedule including 24/7, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability; requires Associate's degree (preferred Bachelor's) and licensure as a Respiratory Therapist with NBRC RRT certification; BLS and ACLS within 90 days of hire; 100% in-patient care environment in a healthcare setting; equal opportunity employer; remote work eligibility explicitly restricted for certain listed states; location: New Orleans, LA.
Required Qualifications
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Education: Associate's Degree
