Job Summary
Provide direct psychiatric care in the Crisis Stabilization/EMPATH Unit at Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, collaborating with Emergency Department teams, medical/surgical colleagues, social services, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless transitions of care. Responsibilities include consultation-liaison duties, supervising psychiatry residents and medical students, contributing to quality improvement, and potentially assuming a Medical Directorship role to oversee unit operations and shape emergent psychiatric services. Opportunities for academic appointment and teaching are available, with a focus on a fast-paced, 12-bed unit within a leading academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire. The role is per diem and based in Riverside, CA, with compensation described as $190-$195/hour and eligibility for faculty benefits; California residency is required at start. The position emphasizes collaboration with a broad care team and potential leadership development.
Required Qualifications
- Per diem adult psychiatrist board-certified or board-eligible
- Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry
- Eligibility to work in California
- Ability to supervise and teach psychiatry residents and medical students
