ADULT PROTECTIVE INVESTIGATOR - 60073250

Adult Protective Investigator responsible for investigating abuse, neglect, self-neglect, and financial exploitation of vulnerable adults in Florida. Primary duties include assessing safety within 24 hours of report receipt, coordinating emergency services including medical evaluations, temporary placement, and court intervention when needed, conducting interviews and gathering evidentiary information, analyzing records and criminal history, and coordinating with state agencies, law enforcement, and prosecutors. The role involves wrapping around services to improve quality of life, building partnerships with community resources, and participating in a Career Ladder program for salary advancement after training. Requires meeting physical demands (including driving, entering residences, and navigating stairs), strong interviewing and report-writing skills, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in emergency situations. Training of 6-8 weeks and a background check with fingerprinting are part of the process; a valid driver license and vehicle ownership/insurance are required. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawfully authorized to work in the U.S.; the position is designated as essential and may involve exposure to hazardous conditions.
