Job Summary
Adult Peer Support Specialist (PRN) role in Owensboro, KY, utilizing lived experience to provide peer counseling and consultation to clients, families, and the team; serve as a mentor to promote hope and recovery; collaborate with colleagues to enhance understanding of clients’ experiences and reduce stigma; provide direct clinical support through individual, group, and family services; assist with treatment, education, and connection to community resources; ensure timely documentation, maintain confidentiality, and comply with KY regulations; organize and lead social and recreational activities to build social skills and community integration; require strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and computer skills; valid KY driver's license and certification/testing timelines as outlined.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with mental illness or similar populations
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field
- Valid KY Driver’s license and clean driving record to be insurable by agency liability insurance company
- Current CPR/First aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of beginning employment
- Peer Specialist Certification strongly preferred or ability/willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of employment
