Job Summary

Adult Peer Support Specialist - Jade (1st Shift) provides peer counseling and consultation as part of an interdisciplinary team to support clients’ recovery. The role mentors clients, validates experiences, facilitates individual and group activities, and collaborates with community resources. Responsibilities include documenting progress, assisting in treatment and education, promoting hope and empowerment, helping clients articulate recovery goals, ensuring confidentiality per clinical standards, and complying with Kentucky regulations. Requires experience with mental illness, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a valid KY driver’s license; CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months; and Peer Specialist certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months). Location: Owensboro, KY (1st shift). Other duties as needed.”,

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness or similar populations
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in human services or related field OR at least 2 years paid or volunteer work with adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses
  • Valid KY Driver’s license and clean driving record to be insurable by agency liability insurance company
  • Current CPR/First aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of beginning employment
  • Peer Specialist Certification strongly preferred or ability/willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of employment
