Job Summary
Provide alcohol and drug education and counseling services for clients in individual and group settings. Responsibilities include conducting screenings, intakes, interventions, assessments, and referrals, while maintaining client confidentiality and adherence to federal and organizational policies. A high standard of ethics, good communication, case management skills, and the ability to build rapport with clients are essential. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with counselor intern registration, and prefer a related Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school (or GED Equivalent) required
- Current letter of registration as a counselor intern with Department of State Health Services
- Prefer Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or two (2) years’ work experience in substance abuse and counseling or related area
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) capabilities preferred
- Experience with clients in a treatment setting
Additional Requirements
- Must be supervised and receive weekly progress reports by QCC to maintain registration
- Counselor Interns must complete 4000 hours of a practicum prior to licensure
