Job Summary
Adult Education GED Instructor and Graduation Pathways Specialist responsible for ~10 hours of instruction/prep weekly (hyflex) and ~30 hours of advising, navigation and data entry for GED/Adult Diploma learners at the Faribault Education Center. Co-leads and plans ABE level Professional Learning Communities (PLC's) four times per year; manages a small grant, maintains student records, and uses data from NRS assessments (TABE and CASAS) to plan focused instruction toward a diploma or GED. Maintains distance learning platforms (Aztec, Essentials, etc.), builds relationships with students, and provides weekly contact to keep students focused on graduation. Requires Minnesota teaching license and a Bachelor's Degree; preferred bilingual English/Spanish; compensation is $38.06 per hour on a 240-day contract with some evening hours. Applies to duties in graduation pathways, data management, and program leadership within the FEC; summer hours may be included as per schedule; responsibilities include co-leading PLC meetings, planning professional development, and ensuring compliance with MN Department of Education requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minnesota teaching license
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience teaching GED subjects
- Ability to teach hyflex
- Strong computer skills with online learning tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated history of racial equity work and focus on increasing racial awareness
