Job Summary

Coordinate student intake, orientation, and placement by managing paperwork, administering TABE, GED, and WIN assessments, and distributing results to instructors and the LACES Clerk. Provide career and educational guidance by completing surveys, assisting with FAFSA applications, and connecting students with community resources through partnerships with agencies like WIA and DSS. Maintain accurate, confidential student records, log attendance hours, and generate monthly newsletters while ensuring compliance with the South Carolina Assessment Policy Manual. Work 28 hours per week as a link between students, staff, colleges, and employers to support credential attainment and program completion.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • At least one year of successful experience in career counseling, employment placement, college placement, or student services
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to successfully complete all required assessment policy and program training
  • Ability to maintain accurate and confidential student records
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, community agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to administer standardized assessments accurately and consistently
  • Ability to interpret and appropriately communicate assessment and placement information
  • Ability to work effectively with adult learners from diverse educational and career backgrounds
  • Ability to provide appropriate career and educational guidance
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students and community agencies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet established deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with instructors, administrators, students, and community partners
  • Commitment to supporting student achievement, credential attainment, career advancement, and postsecondary opportunities

Desired Qualifications

  • Two years of college or equivalent work experience
