Job Summary
Oversee daily operations and staff management for a local high school diploma program designed for adult learners while preparing students to pass the General Educational Development exam. Act as an assessor and portfolio reviewer, conducting blind, independent evaluations to verify client competency mastery against strict national standards and identifying undemonstrated errors for revision. Facilitate in-office checks, post-task assessments, and regular consensus moderation meetings to maintain inter-rater reliability, while re-engaging inactive clients. Work cooperatively with clients, teachers, and stakeholders to support adult learners and their families, adhering to the Teacher Code of Conduct and state policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Certification in CASAS NEDP implementation
- Deep understanding of the current GED exam structure and testing requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in adult education, assessment, or related field
- Strong communication and the ability to evaluate written and critical-thinking demonstrations objectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills for working effectively with a variety of stakeholders including clients, families, and school personnel
- Strong organizational and communication skills employing tact, patience, and courtesy
- Demonstrated expertise related to technology devices and applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and file sharing programs
- Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate
- Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a
