Job Summary
Provide personal, emotional, cognitive, and physical care to adult participants by assisting with eating, drinking, toileting, grooming, ambulation, and transfers. Prepare and serve light meals and snacks while promoting daily activities, socialization, and cognitive exercises. Coordinate the monthly Resident Council Meeting and maintain a clean, safe environment. Complete documentation and reports accurately. Perform duties under the direct supervision of the Adult Day Care Director, adhering to Council on Aging of West Florida policies. This role supports functionally impaired participants through active leadership in assigned activities and requires a valid driver's license, dependable automobile, and successful completion of background screening.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to complete reports
- Good communication skills
- Ability to relate to and interact with the elderly and disabled
- Previous experience and/or training as a nursing assistant or attendant
- Ability to lift and transport clients
- Agency paid pre-employment examination and health screening required to include physician's statement indicating physical fitness to perform required duties and T.B. skin test
- Successful completion of Standard First Aid and Adult CPR training required
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Proof of automobile insurance
- Dependable automobile
- Drug/alcohol testing
- Successful completion of Level II background screening required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with toileting and transferring elderly adults preferred
- CNA strongly preferred
