Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Crisis Unit within a behavioral health setting, ensuring individuals in acute distress receive appropriate care in a safe, therapeutic environment. Lead and supervise behavioral health professionals, conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations, and manage staff scheduling for continuity of services. Direct assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention while ensuring trauma-informed care and staff preparedness for emergencies. Facilitate communication with families, support systems, and external partners, and promote a family-focused approach to treatment planning. Ensure regulatory compliance, monitor quality improvement, and manage the unit's budget and staffing needs. Collaborate with healthcare providers and community agencies to coordinate comprehensive services and represent the unit at outreach initiatives. Maintain confidentiality, adhere to organizational policies, and remain informed of industry trends to support continuous service improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- At least 3-5 years of experience in behavioral health, crisis intervention, or a related field
- At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Completion of the MHRT-1 provisional within the first 30 days of employment
- First Aid certification
- CPR certification
- Mandt (Level I) certification
- CRMA certification
- Ability to pass a background check
- Meeting other licensing or regulatory requirements
- Availability to work weekends
- Availability to work evenings
- Availability to work awake overnights
- Availability to work holidays
- Ability to cover during scheduled time off
- Ability to remain on-site beyond scheduled shift
