Job Summary
Provide career counseling and job-search guidance to customers in workforce-development settings, including identifying barriers to employment, goal setting, job readiness/workshops, resume/document review, and connecting clients with resources. Maintain case notes and client records, track participation, analyze and critique resumes, and help customers maximize program benefits. Develop and deliver training and guidance on career advisement, support team members, and contribute to daily operations and special projects within the Clark County Library District Job Connect and EmployNV workforce hubs. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with two+ years of relevant experience, strong communication/organizational skills, and ability to work in a high-volume setting; travel within Clark County may be required; not remote.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, marketing, business, human resources or related field with two plus years relevant work experience
- Experience working with career counseling consumers in a high-volume work environment, particularly in human services or workforce development
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills, computer skills, publishing skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability to relate well with individuals, motivate others, and experience presenting workshops
- Knowledge of job search strategies, resources and action plans
- Ability to follow instructions well
- Adaptable, flexible, and fast learner
- Creative and able to meet deadlines
- Works well under pressure and goal oriented and within a team concept
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Demonstrated computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet software
- Familiarity with the communities being served and local needs/resources
- Be able to work first shift and overtime if required
- Travel when necessary within Clark County
