Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient setting. Deliver evidence-based interventions for patients with neurological, respiratory, medical, and surgical conditions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support discharge planning. Maintain accurate clinical records and provide education to patients, families, and colleagues. Participate in case discussions and service development meetings where appropriate. This locum role offers competitive hourly rates between £24.00 and £32.00 for a three-month contract, with flexible full-time or part-time hours available in Central London.
Required Qualifications
- A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent)
- HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility for membership) with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
- Previous experience working within an adult acute inpatient setting
- Experience managing dysphagia and communication disorders in adults
- Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills
- The ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
