Job Summary
Adoption Specialist responsible for ensuring children find a permanent home, coordinating with prospective adoptive families, child placing agencies, and legal parties; duties include recruiting and training foster/adoptive homes, supporting families and children through separation and attachment challenges, attending court hearings, documenting case records, coordinating services, and traveling to locations within the region; role requires confidentiality, ethical practice, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive permanency outcomes for youth; local and some out-of-state travel is required, with a personal vehicle used for travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field required; social work preferred
- Two years experience in human services; adoption specialist caseworker experience preferred
- Knowledge of good child placement practices; ability to support prospective adoptive families; ability to travel locally and out of state; ability to maintain timely documentation; knowledge of laws and regulations related to child care, abuse, and neglect
