Job Summary
Conduct pre-home study meetings, assess family capacity to parent, and produce adoption home studies and post-placement reports complying with state, country, and USCIS guidelines. Provide ongoing case management through quarterly contacts, counseling for children and families, and crisis intervention while maintaining documentation in Holt's database. Assist families with travel preparation, post-placement adjustment, and transition planning, including identifying resources and arranging external clinical support as needed. Represent Holt at community outreach activities, coalitions, and adoption meetings to support public awareness. Maintain professional knowledge by attending seminars and staying current on regulations and legislation. Work cooperatively with Branch and Eugene offices to support team objectives and ensure successful child and family adjustment.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work or related field
- five years experience in a social service setting
- state license (where applicable)
- proven clinical and assessment skills
- experience in adoption services and processes
- Ability to conduct a psycho-social assessment
- Experience providing counseling to individuals, families and/or groups
- Knowledge of family and group dynamics and adoption practices
- Excellent writing and computer skills
- Cross cultural sensitivity
- Ability to organize, set priorities and work independently
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex information from multiple sources
- Ability to express thoughts and feelings and facilitate that expression from others
- Ability to establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship
- Ability to work cooperatively with agency staff
- Ability to work well with collateral contacts in the community
- Ability to return phone calls and emails in a timely and courteous manner
- Ability to exercise good judgment and problem solve in a creative manner
