Job Summary
The Adoption and KinGap Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the Adoption/KinGap department, ensuring the finalization process occurs in a timely and effective manner, and providing direct supervision to the Adoption and KinGap Specialists. The role manages the Adoption and KinGap workflows from goal change through finalization, oversees Adoption Home Studies, tracks milestones, and ensures preparation of legal documents. It works closely with ACS, Adoption and KinGap attorneys, and KinGap staff to expedite finalizations, oversees related grants and audits, and ensures timely reporting to Family Court. The supervisor also participates in court proceedings when needed and coordinates Family Team Conferences, while ensuring compliance with city, state, and agency requirements. Strong knowledge of the NYC Child Welfare system, proficiency with Connections and Microsoft Excel, and excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential. Requires the ability to travel between sites (Staten Island and Brooklyn) and perform duties as assigned.
