Job Summary
Welcome and assist visitors, responding to all requests with warmth and professionalism. Coordinate family and animal matches through thoughtful conversations and first introductions. Counsel adopters on pet ownership, animal behavior, Fear Free handling, and successful transitions into the home. Provide animals with a clean living space, physical activity, and mental enrichment using Fear Free methods daily. Maintain accurate animal, financial, and adopter records. This role requires at least one to two years of professional customer service experience and genuine enjoyment working in a highly visible, public-facing environment. The position involves a flexible schedule including weekday mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and non-standard hours as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 – 2 years of professional customer service experience
- Working knowledge of domestic animal behavior, illnesses, and body language
- Compassionate and clear interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to multitask, adapt quickly, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation
- Must be available for weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings
- Must be available for nights
- Must be available for weekends
- Must be available for non-standard hours as needed
